Kyra + Garrett

Kyra + Garrett enjoyed their sunset engagement session around Jester Park in Granger, IA. It was late July, and definitely a hot and sticky day, but they still snuggled close and looked head over heals in love!

We began their session by the beautiful pond amidst the tall pine trees. These tall trees make you feel like you’re hiking a trail in the mountains instead of exploring a park in Iowa!

It was great getting to learn their personalities and how they interact together during the session. Garrett has such a bubbly and outgoing personality, and Kyra is a little more quite but just when you’re caught off guard sneaks in hilarious side humor! Needless to say, they are a perfect match.

After exploring through the trees and near the pond, we decided to go to a spot less traveled. The sunset was in the most dreamy spot above the trees and we found the coolest field to end their session at.

They danced and enjoyed the peaceful evening in each others arms all snuggled close. Their wedding at The 1868 Farmhouse Wedding and Event Venue next June is going to be so much fun!

Activities to enjoy at Jester Park

If you’re a couple that’s looking for an adventure during a session or on your wedding day, Jester Park has so much to offer! If you’re looking to enjoy wildlife, there are bison and elk herds to watch. Or if you’re interested in activities the Jester Park Outdoor Recreation and Wellness Center offers a boulder climbing wall and indoor archery & air rifle. Or if you’d like an outdoor activity you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for 2 hours at the Discovery Pond. And the adventures don’t stop in the winter! You can also rent cross-country skis and snowshoes at the Jester Park Outdoor Recreation and Wellness Center when there is 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Jester park also has cozy cabins available to rent, campgrounds, golfing, mini golfing, horseback riding, sleigh rides, and even has a beautiful venue available for weddings at the Jester Park Lodge.

As you can tell, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a variety of outdoor and indoor activities during your couples or engagement session OR the perfect spot to enjoy yourselves on your wedding day!
