This was an absolutely stunning boho chic wedding at the 1868 Farmhouse in Boone, IA. Their traditional wedding ceremony was held at St. Ambrose Cathedral with all their closest family and friends. It was an unbelievably beautiful day filled with THE most fabulous decor and amazing people.

We started off getting ready in the cute little farmhouse next to the 1868 Farmhouse venue. The girls got ready upstairs and the guys were downstairs playing games! The scenery provided from the brick courtyard at the back of the house was so dreamy that it made you feel like you were in a fairy tale. This is truly such a well thought out venue!

After getting ready and documenting the sweet first look that Megan had with her father, we headed to downtown Des Moines to the epic St. Ambrose Cathedral. We made sure to take a quick moment for Megan + Matt to hold hands just minutes before they were married. Matt had not seen Megan yet, so they were both very anxious to see each other!

Immediately following the ceremony, Megan and Matt were showered with bubbles. Then we spent some time in the courtyard area at St. Ambrose Cathedral and soaked in the perfect amount of sunshine and lighting.

The fairytale continued when we headed back to the 1868 Farmhouse and they started celebrating their marriage together! We all rode on a party bus and had a blast dancing, rapping, drinking, and belting out lyrics.

My absolute favorite tiny detail from this wedding was the back of their wedding cake. As you will see, they stuck a miniature figure of their golden retriever, Olive, on their cake and made it look like she took a tiny bite out of it! I about died when I saw it! This is such a great way to personalize your wedding cake to make it even more special.

Later on, both fathers of the bride and groom gave emotional and beautiful speeches for the couple. From there it was dancing, laughing, and…wait for it…an ice cream truck!!!! For those who don’t know, I’m a huge ice cream fan and having an ice cream truck at a wedding is an absolute dream come true! But seriously, SUCH a great idea for Megan and Matt to supply fun desserts like ice cream and donuts for their guests versus the typical wedding cake!
